How players qualify for USA Pickleball Nationals: Golden Tickets and TPS points
Short answer: For the 2026 Nationals, USA Pickleball says amateur participation requires qualifying through a Golden Ticket tournament or earning 4,500 Tiered Point System (TPS) points before registering.
The Nationals site calls Golden Ticket tournaments the premier pathway for amateurs, because "the stage is earned, not given". Gold medalists receive priority registration access, described as the fastest path to Nationals.
Points
Beyond Golden Tickets, all USA Pickleball sanctioned tournaments contribute to a player's journey: players earn points through the Tiered Point System each time they compete. The amateur page sets the threshold at 4,500 points as an alternative to a Golden Ticket.
