Two pickleball players celebrate with baseball bat trophies

The inaugural Humana APP Louisville Open saved its best for last. Five gold medal matches closed out the weekend inside the Kentucky International Convention Center on Sunday, with Jack Munro leaving town with two more titles, Domenika Turkovic defending her singles crown, and every champion walking away with a customized Louisville Slugger bat.

Seven straight for Munro and Livornese

The APP Tour's dominant men's doubles partnership had to work for this one. Facing No. 3 seeds Zack Marceau and Aidan Schenk, Richard Livornese Jr. and Jack Munro trailed late in a first game where the underdogs served multiple game points at 10-8 and 10-9. The champions escaped 12-10, then slammed the door 11-2 to make it seven consecutive men's pro doubles golds.

"We had to get really creative," Munro said afterward. "They were adjusting on the go consistently, so we had to go with the flow." Livornese pointed to the pair's mentality: "Sometimes we come into the day and maybe we feel a certain way. Maybe it's nerves or low energy, but that's not our story. We get to choose how we react to that." Jay Devilliers and Tanner Tomassi took bronze.

Munro doubles up in mixed

Munro's second gold of the day came in mixed doubles with the Netherlands' Roos Van Reek. The pair, already three-time gold medalists at international events this year, beat Turkovic and France's Jay Devilliers 11-3, 11-5 for their first APP Tour U.S. title as a team. "We've been playing a lot of tournaments this year, and I'm super happy to play with Jack," Van Reek said. Kat Stewart and Livornese earned bronze.

Turkovic goes back to back

Women's singles produced the day's best duel. Top seed Kat Stewart edged the first game 11-9, defending champion Domenika Turkovic answered 11-4, and the decider turned on a late Stewart rally. Up 10-4, Turkovic wobbled but held on 11-7 to retain her title. "I'm really proud of my progress, both on and off the court," she said, crediting Stewart herself for pushing her game forward. Bobbi Oshiro took bronze.

Camron grinds out men's singles

In a battle of the top two seeds, Ronan Camron beat Dusty Boyer 11-9, 5-11, 11-8, reeling off the last three points from 8-8 in game three for his second singles gold of the year. "The difference maker was keeping my head down and hitting good returns," Camron said. Eduardo Irizarry's bronze was his first APP medal since April 2025.

First gold for Oshiro and Stewart

The South Florida duo of Bobbi Oshiro and Kat Stewart won their first title as a partnership, beating Glauka Carvajal Lane and Turkovic 11-2, 11-9 after overturning an 8-6 deficit in game two. "It was about being able to stay disciplined, executing shots, and sticking to the game plan from the first point to the last point," Oshiro said. Louisville mayor Craig Greenberg presented the trophy, with Shelby Bates and Christine Maddox on the bronze step. For Carvajal, the silver extends a run of finals without gold that the Spaniard will be desperate to end at the next stop.

A debut that delivered

Between the convention center and the two-day PickleY'all festival downtown - capped by a free Shaggy concert - Louisville's first APP event drew pros, 50+ and 60+ divisions, a University of Kentucky collegiate showcase and thousands of locals. As first editions go, the Bluegrass State set a high bar.
