Dikosavljevic and Hunter Johnson win Hong Kong Slam singles titles, Waters takes double gold
The essentials: Andie Dikosavljevic and Hunter Johnson won the singles titles at the Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam 2026 at Kai Tak Arena on Sunday, while Anna Leigh Waters left with two golds and 15-year-old Tama Shimabukuro took silver.

HONG KONG - Andie Dikosavljevic and Hunter Johnson won the singles titles at the Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam 2026 on Sunday, closing out the first PPA Tour Asia 1500 event at Kai Tak Arena with a Championship Sunday that also gave Anna Leigh Waters a double-gold finish.
Dikosavljevic, the Australian ninth seed, beat Spain's Judit Castillo, the fourth seed, 11-1, 11-5 in the women's singles final. Neither finalist was a top-two seed: Castillo had knocked out top seed Kaitlyn Christian in Friday's quarterfinals, and Dikosavljevic removed second seed Chao Yi Wang. The title is Dikosavljevic's second women's singles crown on the PPA Tour Asia this season, after the MB Ho Chi Minh City Open in August.
Johnson holds off the 15-year-old
Hunter Johnson, the third seed, took the men's singles 11-4, 6-11, 11-7 over fourth seed Tama Shimabukuro, who is 15. Shimabukuro won the second game before Johnson closed out the third. Johnson's route ran through a semifinal comeback against second seed Federico Staksrud - he lost the first game 3-11, then won 11-8, 11-5 - while Shimabukuro beat Noe Khlif 11-8, 11-2 in a rematch of the Leapmotor Kuala Lumpur Cup final the teenager won in September. Khlif had earlier eliminated top seed Christopher Haworth.
The silver completes an unusual season set for Shimabukuro. The tour's three-piece medal set forms a dragon: a Cup medal for the body, an Open medal for the tail, and a head awarded only in Hong Kong. After golds at the Macao Open in May and in Kuala Lumpur, Shimabukuro ends the season with a gold body and tail - and a silver head.
Waters doubles up, Staksrud and Patriquin reverse Hanoi
Top seeds Anna Bright and Anna Leigh Waters won the day's first final 11-6, 11-4 against second seeds Tyra Hurricane Black and Jorja Johnson, adding to the women's doubles title the pair won at the MB Hanoi Cup in April. Black and Johnson had come from a game down in Saturday's semifinal against Rachel Rohrabacher and Parris Todd.
In men's doubles, second seeds Federico Staksrud and Hayden Patriquin beat top seeds Ben Johns and Gabriel Tardio 11-6, 11-8, reversing the MB Hanoi Cup final that Johns and Tardio won in April.
The last final of the tournament went the other way for Patriquin: hours after beating Ben Johns for the men's doubles title, he and Bright lost the mixed doubles final to Johns and Waters 11-4, 11-3. Waters therefore left Kai Tak Arena with two titles - the women's doubles alongside Bright, and the mixed at her expense.
